Our family motto is 'Nothing but Love' and we have shortened that to NBL. We use that on things that we might want to monogram....towels, sterling, and such. It's also carved above doorways and set in concrete at several different locations 'cross this great nation of ours. I thought about 'monogramming' the wood with NBL. That's a possibility.
Or there's this. A small 'love' in the corner. See below. I wrote this in with photo shop. It doesn't exist in real life. It's just to help you see what I'm thinking. We would probably carve it, then paint it in to look oldish.
That's my grandmother's sewing basket, by the bed. Love it and use it! The oil painting is of an aspen grove up by aspen guard station. |
So, help me, please. NBL or 'love' or nothing at all. Or something all together different?!
I'm all ears!
I like the big LOVE like in the example. . .maybe put "nothing but" small in the top left corner or something, but my favorite part of the example bed was the huge LOVE! There is my 2 cents worth!
ReplyDeletethanx JJ! matt actually likes the big love too!
ReplyDeleteI like it plain, but if you are going to add words, why not make it big? Small seems like you were undecided....
ReplyDeletei like NBL in the corner...in a cool font and white vinyl, yellow, orange whatever color makes your heart sing, and then if you don't like it, take it off! voila! and love to YOU! nan
ReplyDeleteI'm really no help b/c I LOVE it ALL! so the only thing I can think of is... maybe you can do something like refrigerator magnet art? - only for your bed. maybe it'd be more like a felt board? you can have a few different "LOVES" and the words "nothing but" in different colors and fonts and sizes - and depending on how you feel you can put different variations up?! <3 xo
ReplyDeletenice!
ReplyDeleteCan you write it all out? That is the best family motto evah!
