a little more L.A.

Della circa 1970 at a retro surf shop.

This is a beach chicken. She arrived at the beach via mountain bike in the back pack. Top notch people watching, you dig. Lewis picked him up right away, of course. I was looking all around for her owner because I was plagued by a question the minute I saw her. He walked over and we chatted.

"Does she lay?" I asked

L.A. certainly gets enough daylight, but if her forays outside involve a bike ride and and back pack then, well, does she lay?

"Nah, man! That's my question, too" he replied.

He picked her up and grabbed the red thingy above her nose and wiggled it vigorously.

"We love her, man, but my family is always grabbing this thing and squeezing it, like all the time, man. Stressin her out and all."

Matt, ever the therapist, summed it all up for us.

"The stress would effect the laying, my friend."

I shit you not. This conversion went down. I LOVE this world we live in!

.......................................
So. Los Angeles is nothing, if not the epicenter of SUPERCOOL. The shopping is insane and we love to window shop. We walk up and down and all around. The kids scout out shops for stickers and mod gelato flavors sing the loudest siren song.

The Hollywood starlet side of me thinks that this place is the bomb. Do go, if only to love up on the vibe.

And then, there's the other end of the spectrum, where sooner than later, you can find the same dang things that you would in the aforementioned bastion of style. And in the end, it's all in the strut anyway, right?

So, here's another chance for you to enter the give away. Where did Miss Priss get her fantabulous sun hat? Fred Segal or UCLA Thrift?

Put it in the comments on this post!

Love you guys!

  5. You had me giggling with the story about the beach chicken. That is so funny. Actually, one of our chooks would love to be carted around with us I'm sure if we so let her (we don't, just incase you wondered). Jacinta
