The other day I was at the Durango Farmer's Market and I was mysteriously drawn to a booth that I had never seen before. It might have been the bright beautiful colors, the hand-made goodness, or perhaps it was Della, pulling on my arm and shouting, "Look Mama, Look!!!!"
I believe it was fate and some very cool design that drew me straight to the 'Cartwheel Clothing' booth (wo)manned by Jennifer Floyd and her darling daughters.
Della was not leaving without a reversible headband and that's not an easy choice to make, so Jennifer and I got to talking...and here we are.
I love her products. They are so fresh and the fabrics and patterns are fantastic. With endless school lunches looming in my future, I am particularly drawn to her reusable sandwich bags. They are enviro-friendly PEVA plastic and even go in the dishwasher. I love ALL her fabrics, but these owls truly rock!
Della loves the headbands and our latest fashion statement around here is the 'Fidel' hat. Her t-shirts, onesies, and dresses have awesome appliques and I am enamored with the monster and peace sign designs. I, personally, love the belts...for women and children.
Originally from Baltimore, Jennifer was a teacher for 20 years and resigned a few years ago to spend more time with her girls, Peyton and Kendall. Her obsession with fabric (can you identify!) led her to a new career and Cartwheel Clothing was born. She lives just around the valley from me and our kids go to the same school.
If you live in the Durango area, you can find Jennifer and her wonderful wares at the Durango Farmer's Market on August 13th, Sept. 3rd and 24th. Select items are also available at Sprout, Dancing Willow Herbs, Maria's Bookstore, and April's Garden. If you are far, far away, well then, you are in luck! You can go to her website. Click on it right over there in the sidebar and shop till you drop.
To welcome you to Cartwheel Clothing, Jennifer is offering two SUPER giveaways!
The Girl's Back to School Give Away

One reversible headband, one child's belt, and one reusable sandwich bag!

Can I take one more minute to remind us all how nice it is to be able to buy handmade? The quality is superior and value is higher because there is no accounting for the love and creativity that is sewed into every product. It's personal! And that's special!!!
Love the products!!! Oh how exciting!!! My fingers are crossed :).
ReplyDelete(and congrats on your first sponser!!)
Oops, and my favorites are the headbands :).
ReplyDeleteThe sandwich bags are my favorite! Thanks! I hope to win the boy's package.
ReplyDeletecongrats on your first sponsor! and those products look fab - i personally love those reusable sandwich bags! as a mama to a child with food allergies, we always have to bring our snack and what a stylish way to do it. i also love the reversible belts - such a cute idea!
ReplyDeleteYay! Congratulations on your first sponsor; and such a cool one! I love Jennifer's designs...especially the reversible swirly belt, the cat backpack, and those lunch bags! I'm hoping to win the girl's package. :)
ReplyDeleteOk! I am entering! My daughter would love the headbands, and my sons would dig the monster tshirts!
ReplyDeleteYay! A sponsor!
Greenbacks Gal sent me your way and I'm loving your site and Cartwheel Clothing! I'd like to win the boy's package. I have to say it's great to find a site that has boy options. It's hard to find handmade clothes and accessories for boys! My favorite, well, my 8 year old's favorite item is the skulls belt. He said he needs a belt and no one else would have the same kind so that makes it awesome.
ReplyDeleteCartwheel Clothing is the very best!!!and so are Peyton and Kendall... says their grandmother Dodie in Baltimore. xo
ReplyDeleteTeepees!!!! I would love to win the boy's package because the baby airplane shirt is so sweet. Big sister could rock the sandwich bag.
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice way to share the made-with-love goodies:)
Love the sandwich keepers, I made some awhile ago, not nearly as cute. Also, the belts and headbands (for my daughter and myself). Everything really looks great!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on a great connection.
Katie in Pagosa
P.S. Nora Paisley is hoping we win the girl package.
Big congratulations on your first sponsor. So fun!! I realized from one of your Jackson posts that we share a common friend - Beth Whiting. I wondered if we might bump into you & your family on your Jackson trip -- maybe next time :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on getting a sponsor - how wonderful. And it looks like a great fit!
ReplyDeletere: products. I love the reusable bags, although Wren might like to wear a headband! Girl for our little birdie.
Happy weekend!
I love the reuseable bags, but the baby sleepers are pretty cute too. xx
ReplyDeleteI have to go with the girl group!
What a great story of how you "fell" into a wonderful sponsorship relationship! Congrats! I love that she makes teepees...awesome! I would hope to win the boy package.
ReplyDeleteThese choices are all great, though I love the animal backpacks the best. Would love to send my new kindergartner off to school with the girl's giveaway!
ReplyDeleteYippy for your first sponsor. I showed my six year old these pictures and she couldn't get over the belts. It's her number one accessory of the summer.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you hooked up with quite a talent. Amazing sewing skills.
I love the blue dog backpack. Adorable! I've got my fingers crossed to win the boy package...
