And I’ll just leave it at that.
But it dang sure tastes good. And I don’t know that I’ve ever made anything richer. When your kids push the bowl away and say they can’t do it, you know something is up. It’s an interesting problem to have. A decadent chocolatey dessert that is too much to eat....
The solution?
Easy.
Use it as a filler between dark chocolate wafer cookies (those old fashioned ones by Nabisco).
Voila. Little chocolate mousse sandwiches.
Those got gone so fast that there are no photos.
Go figure? The mousse is ‘too much’ and then you add more chocolate and everything is just peachy again.
Go here for the mousse recipe.
I’m into mousses (meese?) now. This weekend a lemon one.
And I have a question that I’m curious about. Do you plan your meals for the week? Does it work? Is it easier? Do you stick with it? I’m willing to try, but am wondering what you guys do!
i sometimes plan my meals for the week. the planning alone takes some time with cookbooks and grocery lists. but when i do plan it works out pretty well. we buy just what we need from the store (thus eliminating the possibility of things not getting used and thus going to waste) and i'm not struck at 5pm with the whole, "what am i going to make i don't have the right ingredients i guess we'll have pasta," situation. but sometimes things come up that force me to alter the weekly plan (a sudden invitation or errand that took too long or lack of energy or etc). generally it's not a big deal, everything just gets bumped a day. so if you have the time to make the plan, it often works out well.
ReplyDeleteYes, I usually plan meals for the week. I shop for ingredients for 4 meals and the rest of nights we eat the leftovers. You've got me drooling with the thought of lemon mousse! Yummmmmmmmm.
ReplyDeleteI don't care if it doesn't look good, wafer or no wafer, if it's chocolate, I'll eat it!!! Still, the wafer idea is pretty dang cool Ivey :). Thanks for all your beautiful words re: the move. I am very excited, with a little jitters mixed in. Btw, we will be driving up through Santa Fe's way!! Maybe I can convince hubs to take a detour to Durango (like how that sounds), doubt it but I could try :).
