thrifty thursday

It's 'thrifty thursday' again and I am joining Lady Cordelia with another, all time favorite, thrifted item.
Everybody else can just kiss my squirrel, because it doesn't get better than this.

Can you say Sesame. Street. Carafe.

And you're thinking "Awww, what a fun little thing for the kids."

Nyet.

My poor urchins have never seen Sesame Street because we ain't got cable.

This is mine.
Ernie and Bert are mine. Big damn Bird is mine.
Della calls him 'Big Chicken' for Christ's sake.
Yes, I will serve them some limeade out of it on a good day, but I'm talking the house red wine, or the other night I poured creamy hot chai out of it at my Naked Party.
{more on that in next weeks thrifty thursday}
It was fifty cent.

Mwa ha ha ha ha.

  1. Well, I'm jealous! I am a huge Bert and Ernie fan [ did you know they were named after characters in the movie 'It's a Wonderful Life'?]
    Naked Party? I guess I really need to call and not just show up at your home yelling "Surprise" I'm here from SC for a visit! :)

  7. I love that so many ways...will it to me sister. Do you remember my white tennis shoes with sesame street characters on the rubber part all away around it!?! I do. They were my favorite! Do you remember the Tweedle Bugs that lived in Ernie's planter box. Be still my beating heart. Mr. Hopper. Bert and the Pigeon Dance. The Monster at the end of this BOOK ( which I have) Grover. Lena Horne singing. One, Two, Three, FOUR, FIVE, Six, Seven, Eight Nine Ten eleven, TTWWELLVVEE! ( Pinball Machine Graphics), and boy going to store (also cartoon) to buy butter, a loaf of bread, blah...GOOD STUFF.

    1. my 5 year old does the pigeon dance from the Old School Sesame. You CAN buy DVD's of Old School and they rock harder than before.

  10. I totally would have bought the pitcher without kids, but I've got to say my girls would dig it. Olive calls him "Earmee and Fert." You and the hubs should mix up some adult smoothies, margaritas or something, and toast to Sesame Street! Sweet find, friend.
