happy thanksgiving

tutorial here

from here

1. You know I am apt to hang a dang banner? I'll be making my own version of this one today. Matt will cringe because he can picture our house in twenty years....

2. I come from a long line of women who take setting the table to a whole nother level. When my mom was here she went through my antler collection to add to her antler collection to use for her Christmas centerpiece. I pale in comparison. My grandmother has been dead for twenty years and we still talk about her flower arrangements. I guess I'll make the kids polish the silver...that's a good start. And I'll break out the R. Wood.

3. And here is the true essence of the whole Thanksgiving shebang for me. This is from Sam Sifton, an authority on Thanksgiving, in an interview on one of my favorite food blogs.

What’s the single most important culinary element of the Thanksgiving meal?
Bounty. That bird should be bigger than you need. There should be at least three, and ideally five, side dishes. There should be rivers of gravy and mountains of dressing. Pies should be visible in the distance, on sideboards, many of them. Bounty is at the essence of of cooking Thanksgiving well.

There will be twenty of us in our small house. The seating will be interesting. There will be bounty and laughter with friends and family.
I am wishing the same for all of you, my dear dear friends. I am most THANKFUL for you. Each and every one of you. Matt  smirks when I call my internet people my friends. He has no idea. No he doesn't.
Happy Thanksgiving, My Dears!
