I taught Della how to play hop scotch. She's good and she's feisty.
And she cheats.
Just so you know.
The summer rains have arrived, as they tend to do in July, and it's another simple pleasure to add to the list. The smell of rain, oh the smell of rain.
We will gladly redraw our hopscotch game every morning in exchange for the smell of rain.

oooh Hopscotch! What a fun childhood game (and memory). I too love the smell of rain; and it smells the best when everything is dried out and dusty. It just doesn't smell the same when it rained a few days ago, ya know?! Have fun camping! We were supposed to go this past weekend, but the trip got canceled and I have to say I'm very relieved. I just needed a weekend of A/C, running water and fresh sheets before our long airplane journey in a few days :-)
