On the fourth we all ran a 5K, Lewis and Della turned it up a notch.
Then they went to the kids flea market and traded/sold their wares...Della drives a hard bargain. She even made a tip jar. Why the hell do you think you deserve a tip, I asked her. I just do, she said. And I didn't argue.
Just say no to TV and turn your satellite dish into a Captain America shield.
Panning for gold at the Gem and Mineral show is always a huge hit. My children are VERY SERIOUS about the tiny specks of REAL GOLD that they find in the trough of Animus river water.
I should pay Lew some sort of stipend for each critter he catches and shares with the group. This garter snake just released it's stink and he's explaining it to a very interested crowd.
Now they smell it. Lew wipes his hands in the grass and carries on.
We spent the weekend camping up near Silverton. This is Clear Lake at approx. 12,000 feet. It was cold and windy and stunning.
This near tame fox would have come with us if we'd let him.
This is South Mineral Creek. Get there if you can. It's yours, you know. I like to remind folks that there is so much amazing public land that is waiting for your next {free} adventure.
Pack your tent and go exploring.
Jousting is much more fun when a cold bath awaits the loser.
This makes me very very very very happy. The oldest and the youngest at camp.
13 and 5, both playing an essential role.
July is passing much too quickly, but we are grabbing it by the tail and spinning it hard and whooping loud all the way!
It's all good!
Hope your week is lovely.
I love all the ways you are filling up this swiftly fleeting month. Carry on!
ReplyDeleteLove it all!!! Can you guys just pitch a tent on public land, wherever you like??? How very cool, I don't think we can do that here in Ontario, but I could be wrong. Although anywhere you might want to do that there are No Camping signs.
ReplyDeleteI am so ready to head that way and pitch my tent!
