halloween story part one

Note: On Halloween morning a package will arrive at Needham Elementary School for Ms. Singleton's fifth grade. It will contain an old mason jar full of frog eggs and this letter. This is part one. Part two will post tomorrow. In the end, the children will have to eat the eggs to save the world. I have always had a story for Lew's class on Halloween. They expect something weird. In an odd coincidence, I received this photo today from my dad, in Georgia, who said that my cousin was showing property when this beast scared him and  four other men onto the toolbox in the back of his pick-up. So you can sort of grasp from whence my inspiration comes....

Go here for the whole story.

  1. Great story Ivey and love the picture. I had a gator in the road the other day and had to wait 'forever' for him to finally move across. We have been seeing quite a bit of gator movement lately so I wonder what's up?

  3. My goodness Ivey, this is gripping. Did you need a new job because we want the 12-chapter version of this, with illustrations.
