panic button

Please pardon my absence for a few days. My mom is coming to visit. For the first time since Lewis was born. He's 11. I'm preparing preparations as my grandmother would say.

Cleaning. Holy Crud. It's not my strong suit. If you know anything about it at all, just come on over in the morning and get busy. I won't be here, but the house will be open. Stick a casserole in the fridge, too, will ya?

Matt says she needs to reframe her thinking. She needs to look at it like she's traveling to another planet. At the very least, a third world country.

Got that, Mom?
Sounds like an adventure.
We are very, very excited!

See you next week!

  1. Just popped up from crawling around under my desk... now, the only clean spot in my office. Gosh it's purty down there.
I understand your situation. In an alternate universe... I'll be over asap, with a dish you can stick in your freezer to reheat later. I'll bring my own broom!

  3. Oh my. I hope Matt & the kids are pitching in some serious elbow grease! Low lighting, music and good food always distracts people from the dust bunnies in the corners. Not to mention the AWESOME company she's coming to visit with. I'm sure everything will be fine! Do I need to ask for pictures to document this event or is that understood?

Your mom will be so dazzled by her people's dazzling wit, charm and creativity (just like I am).

    1. della caught the bunny in the garden and he was injured. nursed him back to health and then maybe carried him around to death...not sure. he was fabulous for the brief two days that we had him.
