It's that time again. For those of you just joining us, every month we have a neighborhood dinner.
We usually send out invites, but this time I painted some signs.
I put one at the intersection and the other at the dinner location. They are re-usable.
The bizarre sunflower sunset is actually very appropriate...our valley is covered up with sunflowers in the summer and our sunsets are amazing. I found the painting in a neighbors trash pile, which makes it a true community effort.
Is it time?
Is it time?
Is it time?
No, but just go, damnit.
And they're off.
Sweet Della is my brilliant child who packs everyone's plates and utensils and takes them.
The sunset cooperated.
Katrina completed my vision. A kelly green paper mache lion was just what that sign needed.
The dinner was at Katrina's House. If my children ever run away, I'll check here first.
We did not wander for this dinner. It was too dark and soon it will be too cold.
We hunkered around the fire and ate yummy food and drank fresh apple cider with rum. The kids swang from the roof beams and jumped on the trampoline.
The kids rode home in the headlights of my car.
We will gather next month for a Solstice bonfire with cross country skiing if Mother Nature will co-operate.
Whoah! That means Christmas is next month.
More on that soon!
I really like your community dinners and your cozy nook of a neighborhood.
ReplyDeleteYou have such an awesome little corner of this world!!! My 5 year-old saw the picture of (Della????) hanging upside down and announced that he would like us to ride our bikes over there :) What fun y'all have and what an awesome community to be raising your kiddos in!
ReplyDeleteThese are so awesome!!! We love our community potlucks.
ReplyDeleteI love that you dug in the trash for the picture! Awesome. We're going to have a Solstice Soup party with a bonfire. I'm hoping there is snow too, because it will be almost Christmas.
ReplyDeleteThat house is AWESOME! I want some of those thingys to swing on! Love all her houseplants! I am obsessed with seeing the insides of other peoples houses.
